I love summertime and getting to do fun activities with my husband during this time of year. There are lots of fun date ideas during the summer that can still be affordable. I wanted to share a couple of our favorites!
Something new we tried this year that we both had never done, was strawberry picking. We are both huge strawberry fans so it was a great day date for us! Some tips before you go strawberry picking, make sure to wear closed toed shoes and pants if you can as well so you don’t get itchy afterwards. Trust me, I learned the hard way. It was only $1 for the basket and then $6-$7 for all the strawberries. Make sure to fill up your basket when you go too. The strawberries that are fresh are amazing. They taste way better than the store bought ones.
The next affordable summer date is movie under the stars. You will need a couple essentials for this including: A laptop, some popcorn, a couple blankets, and a movie. This date will work really well if you live out where there aren’t very many city lights or you have access to a place that isn’t near city lights. You can snuggle up under the stars and watch your favorite movie together. We have also set up a fort in our house and done this too. It makes it feel special and out of the ordinary.
One of our favorite things to do during the summer is to go on short adventures. We live close to the D.C. and Baltimore area, so we can easily make a trip to either of those places in a day trip. The best place we have visited recently is the D.C. Zoo. It’s free and there are so many animals to see there. Plus there is an amazing frozen yogurt places across the street.
Some other affordable ideas during the summer when it’s not hot out include: bike riding, bonfire, or having a romantic picnic outside.
Also, wanted to share with you all my favorite white eyelet shirt from Francesca’s. I found it for under $40 and I’m wearing an XS. I also love these embroidered denim shorts I found at Target. They are on sale right now for $12 and fit true to size. My turquoise earrings and black sandals are also from Target and I linked them for you.
