Taking care of my skin has always been important to me, but until recently I hadn’t put in the effort that I needed to. I didn’t realize how many chemicals and other things are put into moisturizers and foundations and even something as simple as mascara. About two years ago, I made a switch in my make up and skin care routine and have seen amazing results since. I do have to be honest though, I do deal with adult acne now due to a hormonal imbalance from taking birth control pills. I am here to share with you all my skin care routine and favorite make up products.
When it comes to skin care, I keep it simple. I haven’t quite found my favorite products yet, but I am trying out something new. I only use two products when it comes to skin care, a moisturizer and a cleanser. I have recently been using Olay rejuvenating anti aging moisturizer and cleanser. They come in a pack at walmart for $25 and they are the best brand name skin care out on the shelfs. However, I have heard a lot of good things about Tula recently and am wanting to try some of their products soon. I will do a full review on their products once I use them. I used to use Senegence 3 in 1 cleanser and daytime moisturizer which I love both and work great! However, if you are looking for something affordable go with Olay. They even have special eye creams and masks now too.
My make up routine is pretty simple, but does take some time since I am a perfectionist when it comes to putting make up on. I use all Senegence products and I will never go back to anything else. All of their products have skin care in them, even the lipstick and eyeshadow. I also love that all of their products are cruelty free, gluten free, and water/sweat resistant. I have gone swimming several times with my make up on and it hasn’t come off. It is especially great to have when summer hits and it is warm outside. The only downside of Senegence is the up front price, however I have ended up saving money on make up since the products last twice the amount of time. I became a distributor for them so I could get a discount for myself. So if you are really wanting to try the make up out sign up for that and you can save so much $$ on your make up too.
What I use from Senegence:
I use their regular makesense foundation in the color Almond for my skin in the winter and coffee in the summer. It has an spf in it and goes on smoothly, plus it blends with your natural color of your skin. For blush, I love the toasted rose and in the summer the terra cotta. The blush is a liquid so it is different to get used to, but stays on nice and blends well. I use a combination of their eyeshadows, but they are such a steal at regular price $22 and they last you 3-5 months at a time. The eyeshadow is a cream to powder base so it blends nice and stays all day. I use candlelight for my base shadow, pink posey and copper rose for my lid, mocha java for my crease, and garnet on the corner. I always use a blending brush when applying the eyeshadow and make sure to blend within 2 minutes of putting a shade on or else it will stay as is. For my eyeliner, I actually love using their Onyx shadow. I use a thin brush to put it on and linked one here for you all. I use their volumizing mascara and natural concealer as well.
