Top 5 Favorite Restaurants in Melbourne, FL

This post is long over due from me as I get a lot of questions about FL even though I don’t live there, but visit about four times a year since my family lives there. One of our favorite things to do when traveling is to try our different restaurants and Melbourne, FL and the surrounding area has a lot of fantastic restaurants to choose from. I wanted to narrow it down to five of our top favorites when we visit.

1. Frigate’s Restaurant Bar and Grille

Florida has a lot of restaurants and bars that are on the water, but this one tops off all of them. The food and atmosphere are both excellent. The restaurant sits right on the Eau Gallie river and is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, twinkle lights, and a dock that goes out to the water. Almost all of the seating is outdoors and you just get that vacay vibe from it. All of their food is amazing, but I particularly love their market grouper that is fresh and can be made different ways with a sauce on top. You must try their sweet potato fries which come with a maple dipping sauce that is amazing. I also love their many cocktails including their red wine sangria. I’ve never had a bad meal there yet and always enjoy the views. Here are some pictures of the restaurant for reference.

2. Yellow Dog

We recently got to eat here with my parents for New Years Eve and it was SO good! It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the food is delicious! Everything on their menu we ordered was so good. They have lots of great fish, steak, chicken, seafood, and even duck on their menu. I got the maple chicken and it was delicious! They even had gluten free and dairy free bread for me as well. I also put a picture of it below for reference.

3. First Watch or Keke’s

These are our two favorite spots for brunch. Both have amazing and unique menus and offer a lot of gluten and dairy free options for me as well. My hubby loves the french toast at both places and I love getting the breakfast hash at both of those places as well. The coffee is also so great and First Watch even has non dairy creamer too!

4. Grilles

This one will always be a favorite to us as it is the place Corbin and I went to with our family after we got engaged. This is more of a casual waterfront restaurant. On the weekends they have live bands out on the patio and dancing and beautiful views of the water. Any of the seafood and fish items are delicious and they have amazing fries!

5. Sands on the beach

If you’re looking for a beachside restaurant this is a great place! It sits right on the beach and has access to the beach from the restaurant. The food is great! I love their salads for lunch and fish for dinner as well. I also love that you can grab a drink and go spend some time on the beach at the same time.

Bonus: Fat Donkey Ice Cream or Del’s Ice Cream

This one is a bonus for you all! Fat Donkey is our absolute favorite place to grab ice cream in the local area. They have a ton of ice cream options and also a non dairy menu which I love of course! If you’re looking for non dairy try their chocolate almond fudge flavor. We used to love Del’s when I could eat regular ice cream, so I definitely recommend checking them out if you don’t have any allergies in the family.

I get so excited sharing all of these restaurants with you all and it makes me excited to visit these places the next time I go! Please let me know in the comments if you’ve been to any of these places or tried them and what your favorite dish is!
