It’s hard to believe that it’s a new year. 2020 was a rough year for everyone and it certainly flew by fast. Even though 2020 was a tough year, I am still so incredibly thankful for the many ways God blessed us and so thankful for the many ways I grew during those tough seasons. I wanted to share with you all my word for this year and also just a little insight into how you can set realistic goals for yourself.
When I look back on the year 2020, I realized how hard it was to follow through on things. This year, 2021 I am going to do my best to follow through on all areas of my life. So my word is follow through. Whether it’s writing more blog posts on here, answering emails or texts I receive, or even finishing house work I start at home I want to be very intentional in every area of my life. I have all of my goals written down for the year and they all encompass these two words: Follow through.
An easy way to set realistic goals for the year is just to first of all note that they are goals so if they don’t happen, to remind yourself you’re not a failure just because you didn’t accomplish a goal. Second, only giving yourself around three big goals for the whole year that way you don’t get overwhelmed. I reminded myself after writing all of my goals for the year too, that above all of the other goals my spiritual goal is most important to me. If I’m not spending time with God, I can’t possibly accomplish any of the other goals. Lastly, categorize your goals into groups. My husband and I got these 2021 planners that set out goals into categories. For example: Business Goals, Fitness/Physical Goals, Spiritual Goals, Relational Goals, etc. This really helps to be able to process your goals on a much easier level.
Thank you all so much for your continuous support in 2020 and I look forward to another year of building more community on here! Hope you all have a great start to the new year and enjoy setting those goals!
