Living like a princess-Creating my own customized gown with Design Formal

Have you ever wanted to look like a princess? Ever since seeing Princess Diaries and Beauty and the Beast as a little girl, I’ve always wanted to live out my own princess fairytale. Growing up, I did a lot of theatre shows and pageants where I got to dress up in ball gowns and dresses and it was so much fun. I always had a dream of working with a brand one day to create and design my own fairytale dress. I had the opportunity recently to work with Design Formal and design my own princess ball gown. I wanted to share what my experience was like working with them along with some pictures of this gorgeous custom gown.

The Fit

This gorgeous evening dress has the perfect fit. When working with Design Formal’s design team they take everything into account to make sure that the fit is perfect. They got my exact measurements for the dress along with details on how I wanted the dress to fit. When emailing back and forth with their design team they asked me specific questions about how I wanted the bodice to fit and the full dress as well. I was also able to send along photos and explain the look I was going for. This dress definitely fits me perfectly and has the most gorgeous floral details on the bodice.

Working with the Design Team

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to design your own wedding dress and work with a design team, I’m here to share what it’s like. Tansy was my designer and she was absolutely amazing! She did not miss any details and was very fast at communicating with me. She sent me some sample pictures of material she was thinking of using after I sent her photos and explained the kind of dress I was going for. They have several gowns they design on their website and you can get ideas from those as well and send them those photos as well. Tansy also helped me with the direction that I wanted to go with the dress. I wanted a bodice that had a sweetheart neckline, but was still modest. Tansy helped me achieve this goal with the dress and did an amazing job with capturing the design.

The Results

I am so incredibly happy with my dress and love the way it turned out. It was exactly what I wanted. I was going for a similar style dress to the one Anne Hathaway wears in Princess Diaries 2 and I definitely was able to achieve that goal. I am so grateful I got to work with Design Formal and their team and loved the opportunity to be able to design my own dress. Thanksgiving Outfits

With Thanksgiving only a month away, I wanted to share with you all some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration. Several of these outfits are very affordable and I also included a couple picks from Amazon as well!

This is one of my favorite fall sweaters! I love the neutral leopard print on it and it’s super cozy and soft. You can pair it with one of these skirts or with jeans and boots for a more casual look like I have on here. I’m wearing a size XS in the sweater and it fits TTS. If you’d like it to be longer to wear with leggings size up. I’m wearing a size 4 in the jeans and they fit TTS. You can also pair this outfit with booties or knee high boots and even add a wool hat. I love a fun color block sweater and I love how simple this one is. The colors are perfect for Thanksgiving. It has more of an oversized fit so it can easily be worn with leggings, but I just tucked it into my jeans for more of a dressier look. I’m wearing a size Small in the sweater and it fits TTS. If you’re wanting a more dressy look this one is so sleek and perfect for Thanksgiving. The skirt is actually a skort which is nice to be able to wear without having to worry about length. I love this simple puff sleeved cream sweater to pair with any bottom. It comes in several colors and I just ordered it in red for Christmas. I’m wearing a size small in both the sweater and skirt. I love a good classic look and this all white and black outfit is perfect for that. This tweed skirt has a super soft knit to it and pairs well with so many different colors. I love being casual for Thanksgiving and this outfit is perfect and simple for it. I love a good white long sleeve tee and I paired this adorable plaid scarf for some fall colors. Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspo

It’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I feel like just yesterday I was putting up Christmas decorations. Whether you are planning a night out with your significant other, having a girl’s night in, a casual date night, or going out on the town with your girlfriends for Valentine’s Day, I’ve got you covered with different outfit inspiration for any occasion. I’m going to share outfits I already own that I put together for Valentine’s Day along with some pieces that I like from different stores.

Casual Night Outfit

I love this look because of the pink and white combo. I think it’s so different and unique to the typical red and hot pink colors you see for Valentine’s Day. If you aren’t a pink or red girl during Valentine’s Day, then this is the outfit for you. This open knit black sweater is so cozy and would look cute either casual or dressed up with a mini skirt. This is a favorite of mine since I love wearing red and I love bell sleeves. It’s a classic Valentine’s look with a little bit of sass. I paired this Shop Versona red sweater with a pair of faux leather leggings and my favorite OTK boots. You can also wear a pair of jeans with this sweater and some casual boots. This is another great classic red sweater. I love this sweater since it has distress detail on it which adds a fun flare to it. You can also add a bralette under the sweater as well. I pair this sweater with jeans or black jeans and a pair of my favorite boots. You can throw on a pair of cute heart earrings with this to make the perfect Valentine’s outfit. Dressy Date Night

This cream sweater dress would be the perfect date night outfit for Vday! You can pair it with your favorite OTK boots or a pair of pumps or short booties. I love this dress because the color is so versatile. I’m wearing a size small in the dress and a size 7 in the boots.

I feel like this outfit is a sassy one for Valentine’s Day. The top I have on is no longer in stock, but you could do a red sweater or red top with this leather skirt and have an adorable outfit. I paired it with my favorite OTK boots, but if you live somewhere warmer you could throw on some short black booties or heels. I’m wearing a size medium in the skirt and size 7 in the boots.

This is a perfect way to be subtle but still look cute on Vday. Throw on your favorite burgundy top or sweater with an adorable light brown skirt for a chic look. I’m wearing a size small in the sweater and size small in the skirt as well.

This is probably one of my favorite outfits for Valentine’s day! This black dress is perfect for those who don’t want to wear normal Vday colors, but still want to look classy. Thanksgiving Outfit Inspo

It’s been a little while since I have been on here to share some outfit ispiration with you all. It’s also hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little over a week away! We leave next week for FL to spend Thanksgiving with my family and I am so excited for this trip! I had so many requests to share Thanksgiving outfit ideas for you all. We all have different ways we spend Thanksgiving. With my family we usually watch the Macy’s day parade in the morning and start cooking after breakfast for a late lunch. We always dress up some in my house for lunch and then get our comfy clothes on to play games and shop all the sales. I am going to share some casual, dressy, and comfy outfits.

Ways to transition summer outfits into the fall

Summer is almost over and we are moving into one of my favorite seasons, fall! Fall is my favorite time of the year with all the pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple cider, and the cool weather. I also love everything about fall style including booties, scarves, sweaters, and cardigans. I wanted to share some of my favorite transitional fall pieces and how to transition them from summer to fall.

A great way to transition summer dresses, rompers, and even shorts is by adding a cardigan or a jacket to it. This romper is a perfect summer to fall color. You can add a pair of booties and cardigan or jacket to wear with it. I also love this dress and the color is perfect for fall with a cardigan and some boots.

Another great way to transition an outfit from summer to fall is by adding a pair of open toed booties or short booties with any outfit. You can even add a pair of booties with a pair of shorts for a fall look.

A pair of good denim are also a must when it comes to transitioning into fall. I love these cropped denim from Belk and they go perfect with a pair of booties. I also recently got a pair of black denim pants from American Eagle that I love too.

I love having lots of camis and tees too of different colors for fall to wear with cardigans and jackets. Target has some great tees and camis for an affordable price. Another great place to find camis and tees is from Nordstrom as well.
