Favorite Swim for Spring

With Spring Break right around the corner and vacation planning, I had a lot of requests to share my favorites Swimwear for this Spring. I know we all have our minds on sunny weather and beaches, so I hope this can brighten up your week a little and give you a break from all the cold winter weather. I am still shopping for some spring swimsuits so I will share a couple I own already and several others I have my eye on, as well as the trends for swimsuits this year.

I am still shopping for some spring swimsuits so I will share a couple I own already and several others I have my eye on, as well as the trends for swimsuits this year.

A swimsuit style that has come back this year is floral and off the shoulder. You will see this style in every store. I got this cute floral off the shoulder suit in FL at a suit boutique. It is a Seafolly brand which is a really nice quality brand. They don’t have this exact suit on their site, but a lot of other floral one pieces. I will link a couple here below of my favorite floral one pieces.

Another trend coming back this year is gingham suits. Which I am excited for, since gingham is one of my favorite patterns! I am also seeing a lot of striped suits this year and I have my eye on a couple right now. I linked a couple one pieces and two pieces of gingham and striped suits below.

You will also see a lot of high waisted two pieces and also neutral two pieces with some fun scalloping and embroidered patterns on them. I found this cute embroidered two piece in FL as well and it is a Seafolly brand too. The off the shoulder two piece look is going to be a big trend this spring/summer. I also found this cute flounce top and palm tree high waisted bottom suit on Amazon for under $30. You can shop more of my Amazon Suits here!!!! I linked several of my favorite high waisted two piece and neutral one pieces from other boutiques I love.

Target also has some really cute suits for Spring. I found this cute black suit last year, but it is still in stock. It is such a great staple suit with an embroidered top. I linked a couple other favorite Target suits here.

Another important part of your suit is your cover up and beach bag. I wanted to share with you all some of my favorites for that. I have several linked here on my resort page from Amazon. My favorite cover up I wore on our cruise recently was from Amazon and I found it for under $15.

I hope you all enjoyed my round up of suits and can enjoy some warmer weather soon! Stay tuned this coming week for my top picks of sundresses and trends for spring. Have a great weekend!

Cruise to Mexico

We had such an amazing time on our cruise and I wanted to share some of the highlights with you all and also share about Royal Carribean and why we will continue to cruise with them. I am also going to share some of my favorite outfits I wore during the trip as well as some of the adventures.

We chose Royal Carribean as our cruise ship since we found out that in December through January they run a special of buy one get the second guest 60% off. So we got an incredible cruise for a bargain. We stuck with the inside cabin of our ship which was still very nice and spacious. Our ship was the Independence of the Seas which had just been remodeled last year. There were so many different events and activities to do on our ship including: Shows, Music, Art Auctions, Laser Tag, Arcade, Pools, Hot Tubs, Dance Parties, and even ice skating. We were very impressed with the entertainment level on Royal Carribean. Our favorite show was the musical Grease they had on board. We also enjoyed some dancing at the silent disco which is like a dance party, but with head phones and the ability to switch between two stations for two different types of music. This was one of the highlights from the ship since they played a lot of the classic party dance tunes. We also enjoyed the pool area and the hot tubs. There were two pools for adults and also two hot tubs as well.

The other amazing part of our trip was the food on the ship! We had assigned dining in the evenings and the food was always delicious and the service was amazing. We had the sweetest servers for our table. There was a formal night where we got to dress up and I wore this gorgeous floral maxi from Red Dress Boutique. They also had a great buffet for breakfast that we ate at as well as a pizza place. The pizza was so good and they even made me a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese so I could enjoy it. They had specialty dining, however we did not try any of that.

We also did some exploring in the two ports we stopped in Mexico including, Cozumel and Costa Maya. In Cozumel we went to the mainland of Mexico to see a mayan ruin called the Coba Pyramid and a Grand Cenote as well. The ferry to get over to the main land was not very fun though and you will need to take dramamine before it and also sit in the back of the ferry on the deck as well. They had to send one lady to the ER due to getting so sea sick from the ride. We then took a bus to a local mayan shop and the pyramid. The Coba Pyramid was such a neat experience with a lot of history and culture. We got to climb the pyramid which was a little scary, but worth the view at the top. The Cenote was a sink hole made up of limestone rock and it was really neat. We swam in the water which wasn’t too cold but definitely deep. In Costa Maya, we went to a local beach which was stunning and ate some authentic chicken tacos and chips. The food was really good and is less spicy than US Mexican food which I liked.

We had two days of just cruising which was so nice and relaxing. We spent lots of time laying out in the sun, walking around the ship, eating lots of food, and going to shows.

For most of the dinners, I wore a dress, skirt and top, or a romper. I wore comfortable sandals and wedges along with a cute straw bag I found on Amazon for $30. I linked all of my outfits, accessories, and beach essentials from the cruise here below.

We had an amazing time in Mexico and on our cruise! We would highly recommend sticking with Royal Caribbean. They did such an amazing job and are the best cruise we have been on yet.

Hope you all have an amazing week!

Charleston Travel Guide

My husband and I had the opportunity to travel to Charleston last week for our annual vacation together. I have to say, we were both very impressed and fell in love with the city. The city is not just beautiful for all of the buildings that line the streets, but also for the history behind all of those buildings. I wanted to share with you all about our trip and some of our top picks for restaurants and things to do/see while visiting Charleston.

A highlight from our trip were the many side streets of beautiful historical homes. Down near the battery right along the bay, you will find some of the most gorgeous southern homes. They are all lined with iron fences and beautiful columns in the front and all include the famous side porch. If you go exploring down near the battery, be sure to take a walk down through the side streets all the way to Broad St. We found several historical homes that belonged to people in our American History. Rainbow Row is definitely a neat to see, but some of the homes down the side streets nearby are even more beautiful. Several of the streets also still have the old stone or cobble roads which also makes Charleston a unique city.

Our favorite part about exploring downtown Charleston was definitely the restaurants. Charleston is known for their amazing food and have some of the best southern places to eat at. Make sure to always take recommendations from the servers on what food tastes the best at the restaurant. Some of our favorites included Paw, Paw, Poogan’s Porch, Miller’s All Day, Carmella’s Dessert and Bar, and Tavern and Table. Paw, Paw had the most amazing duck dish and had a neat industrial style inside. Also, make sure to try their truffle fries for an appetizer, they were absolutely amazing. Poogan’s Porch had the most amazing southern food and charm. At Poogan’s Porch you get to sit on an old southern porch of an old house. Tavern and Table was perfect for a nice burger and fries and sits on Shem Creek. I think our favorite was Carmella’s Dessert since we are both big dessert fans. They have mini cakes, cookies, gelato, and the best sorbet I have ever tried. It’s a neat spot for a dessert and coffee or dessert and wine.

We also went to the Isle of Palms Beach while we were there and it was really nice. It’s a quiet beach with a pier and lots of fun beach shopping and restaurants nearby. We tried the Coconut Joe’s for lunch at the beach and it was perfect for a lunch date. Most of the locals recommend Isle of Palms or Sullivan’s Island Beach over Folly Beach. So we did not even explore the other ones. Isle of Palms also has a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream shop close by which is always great on a beach day.

If you have some extra time downtown, definitely explore the Pineapple Fountain, the college of Charleston and the market downtown. The market has a neat history behind the building and lots of different unique shops. The Pineapple Fountain is so pretty and the park around it is also great to walk around in.

We stayed at an air bnb for the first time in Mt. Pleasant and loved it. Our Air Bnb was an old carriage house that had been updated into a new apartment. We had a full kitchen which was perfect for breakfast and lunch. I definitely recommend trying out Air Bnb for your next trip.

Charleston is truly a beautiful city and we can’t wait to go back again soon to visit. If you are planning a trip there soon, please feel free to ask me questions or recommendations. Hope you all have a great week and Happy Fall!

XOXO.

Autumn

My Disney Tips and Tricks

am going on a trip to visit my family next month and we are going to be heading to Disney. If I could I would live in the Magic Kingdom, but not really. My parents live in Florida so my husband and I go to visit often. That means lots of trips to Disney. I have visited all of the parks many times and I have to say Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are my two favorite! I figured I would share some of my best tips with you all if you are planning a trip to Disney.

As many of you know I am a huge Disney fan! I am going on a trip to visit my family next month and we are going to be heading to Disney.

1. Pick the right time to go

My number one tip for visiting Disney is picking the right time of the year to go. I recommend not going in the summer and rather going anytime in October through November or January through March. You avoid the crowds and hot temperatures when going those times of year versus the summer. If you do go during the summer, definitely go in June instead of July and August.

2. Make sure to plan ahead

I recommend using the Disney Experience app to plan for your trip. You can buy tickets through the app and also plan fast passes and dinner reservations. Speaking of fast passes, it is smart to plan your fast passes a month in advance. You want to put most of your fast passes in the morning. Once you use the three original passes, then you can sign up for individual ones on the app as well.

3. Plan your dinner reservations

If you know you want to go to a specific restaurant then I would like to encourage you to reserve in advance. You can do that through the My Disney Experience App. One of my absolute favorite restaurants at Disney is the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. I also love Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs. It’s definitely a great experience for kids.

4. What to wear to the parks

I always recommend going with something comfortable. I usually go with a romper or casual sundress and sandals during the fall and wear jeans and a top during January through March. It usually is cooler in the evenings during the fall and spring so always bring a sweatshirt or sweater. I always bring a backpack with snacks, water, and sun lotion.

Hope all of these tips help you all and I can’t wait to share my pictures from my upcoming trip! Hope you all have a great week!

XOXO,

Autumn

Favorite Summer Accessories

love summertime and wearing sundresses as you all know! I wanted to share some of my favorite simple accessories that go with several different outfits.

I hope you all have had a great weekend! I can’t believe how close we are to July 4th already. We had a fun weekend visiting Frederick, Md on Friday. We both have the day off so we usually take some time to go on a fun adventure together. I wanted to share with you all some of our favorite spots in Frederick and also some of my favorite summer accessories.

Frederick has a beautiful downtown with shops and restaurants. It also has a canal that runs right on the inside of the town. You can walk down there and grab a bite to eat or grab a favorite dessert at Cakes to Die For. We always make an effort to go there for a treat, they have amazing vegan/gluten free brownies. We are still trying out restaurants downtown, but a good place is Firestone’s. They make a lot of good food and can make anything gluten free there too. We also did a little bit of shopping for me at Francesca’s in Frederick. I will be sharing some of those looks in the next few weeks from there.

I love summertime and wearing sundresses as you all know! I wanted to share some of my favorite simple accessories that go with several different outfits.

Purses

One of my favorite trends this year is a straw crossbody bag. I love how you can wear it with jean shorts and a tank or with a maxi dress and heels. It’s so versatile for summer outfits. I shared my favorite one above from Amazon for $22 and a couple others I love.

I recently came across a white floral embroidered clutch at Francesca’s and I love it. It’s more of a dressier purse, but goes with any color. I got mine for $38 and linked it above.

Earrings

I am loving all the statement earrings this year. I have probably bought five pairs in different colors. My current favorite place to find statement earrings is at Target. I found my white tassel earrings from there and recently my turquoise tassel earrings as well. They have different earrings and colors to choose from. The brand is called sugarfix by Baublebar. Most of the earrings run around $13-$15.

Shoes

One of my favorite accessories is shoes. I am loving the espadrille wedges this year. I found a nude pair at J.Crew Factory on sale for $40. They normally run around $98, however J. Crew Factory normally runs a lot of sales and discounts. I found my black wedges at Charlotte Russe for $30. They normally have a lot of shoes at an affordable price.

I also love to find shoes that are comfortable and flat. My favorite place currently is Target. I found both my black sandals and my tan slides there for around $20. Both shoes run true to size and I linked both of them here for you.

I’d love to hear from you all what some of your favorite summer accessories are and what you are looking foreword to the most this summer! Hope you all had a great weekend!

XOXO,

Autumn
