Last Minute Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

It’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I always enjoy doing a special date night with Corbin on Valentine’s Day. Sometimes when Valentine’s Day falls during the week we will the celebrate the weekend before. This year we are planning to grab coffee the day of and the weekend before going out to dinner for our favorite meal and then maybe star gazing. I wanted to give you all several of our favorite ideas for Valentine’s Day to mix it up if you’re trying to figure out a unique date night.

Grabbing Brunch/Coffee Together

This is one of our favorite day dates. We love grabbing brunch together or going to our favorite coffee shop.

Themed Dinner and Movie Night

Grab some supplies at the store and create a themed dinner around your favorite tv show or movie. We haven’t done this yet, but we want to do one for friends or chuck.

Great Outdoors

Grab your outdoor supplies and go hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lining or something fun outside. We love going biking and kayaking. Grab your picnic supplies and bring them along with you.

Make a visit to the Zoo, Aquarium, or an Art Museum

Most cities will have a zoo, aquarium, or art museum. Grab some dinner before hand and head to one of these fun outings.

Board Game Night

This is also a favorite of ours. We love playing board games together. I listed a couple of our favorite two player games.

Go Dancing or take an online Master Class

Many dance studios offer dance classes like salsa or ballroom dancing. There is even online dance classes as well.

Take a master cooking class or bake something together

There are lots of online master cooking classes that teach you how to make chocolate or a yummy meal. You could also grab some supplies together and bake as well. We love doing this together and love the results of it.

Picnic in your favorite spot

I love going on picnics with Corbin. You can go to any of your favorite spots and have a picnic.

Valentine’s Date Night Ideas

Valentine’s day is right around the corner and it’s one of those years where we all have to be creative with our date nights! I wanted to share our top 6 ideas for a unique Valentine’s Day Date night experience at home.

Themed Dinner and Movie Night at home

We love doing dinner and a movie at home and making it really special with dinner and also popcorn and cookies. I love the idea of a themed dinner though and I would go the extra mile to make it special. Last year for May the 4th, we watched Star Wars movies and made some green milk and cookies. It was so much fun to have a theme to it. So maybe you could do a Great Gatsby theme or 50’s style theme or arabian food while watching Aladdin. The possibilities are endless with this one.

Take a master class on how to make chocolate or any cooking class together

We have yet to do this one, but this date is definitely on our list. There are several places online including Airbnb that are offering special cooking course or chocolate making courses. How fun would it be to make your own chocolate.

Spa trip/create your own spa at home

If you can get out and go to a spa and do a couples massage I highly recommend it! Corbin and I have done several of these and we have not been disappointed. If you can’t go out, then create one at home with a bubble bath, lots of candles, calming music, order a special massage oil or lotion, and complete with chocolate strawberries with a glass of wine.

Board Game Night

If you are the competitive type this one can be fun! We love playing board games together. I added a couple of our favorite board games that we can play together just the two of us. Maybe think outside of the box with games you can play that make the night romantic. Make it complete with some snacks and your favorite dessert.

Order in your favorite meal

I love this idea, especially if you live in a big city near lots of restaurants. Order in your favorite meal and enjoy over a candlelight dinner together. Make it extra fun by blindfolding your spouse and seeing if they can figure out what flavors the food has in it.

Take a dance class online

We love going dancing and actually went to a dance studio last year who was giving free salsa dancing classes on Valentine’s Day. It was so much fun! This year is a bit different do why not sign up for one online or look up dance tutorials on youtube. I listed some ideas below.

Free Ballroom and Latin Lessons, Free couples dance lessons, At home couples dance lessons, Virtual Online Dance Lessons, Beginner Salsa Free Lesson

Create a Scavenger Hunt at home

I did a small scavenger hunt for my husband back in our first little apartment together for Valentine’s day with clues and everything. I think it would be fun to try it again at our bigger house. I also think it would be fun to maybe to have some of the clues take you to either a restaurant you both enjoy or a coffee shop. I did clues with different types of candy and the last clue led him to a dessert I had made. So whatever you come up with, just make it fun for the both of you.

Casual Night Outfit

I love this look because of the pink and white combo. I think it’s so different and unique to the typical red and hot pink colors you see for Valentine’s Day. I grabbed this cardigan, belt, and boots from Madison and Mallory. The cardigan is so soft and comfy and would be perfect for a night in or a casual night out. I love how versatile this look is and how you can wear it to transition into spring. I’m wearing a size small in the cardigan and a size 7 in the boots. Both of them fit true to size. You can grab all these items for 15% off using my code: Autumn15 at checkout.

Blush CardiganWhite Booties, White Blouse

If you aren’t a pink or red girl during Valentine’s Day, then this is the outfit for you. This open knit black sweater is so cozy and would look cute either casual or dressed up with a mini skirt. I added my favorite OTK boots and Victoria Emerson bracelet. I’m wearing a size small in the sweater and 7 in the boots.

This is a favorite of mine since I love wearing red and I love bell sleeves. It’s a classic Valentine’s look with a little bit of sass. I paired this Shop Versona red sweater with a pair of faux leather leggings and my favorite OTK boots. You can also wear a pair of jeans with this sweater and some casual boots. I’m wearing a size small in the sweater.

This is another great classic red sweater. I love this sweater since it has distress detail on it which adds a fun flare to it.  You can also add a bralette under the sweater as well. I pair this sweater with jeans or black jeans and a pair of my favorite boots. You can throw on a pair of cute heart earrings with this to make the perfect Valentine’s outfit. I’m wearing a size small in the sweater and it fits great.

I feel like this outfit is a sassy one for Valentine’s Day. The top I have on is no longer in stock, but you could do a red sweater or red top with this leather skirt and have an adorable outfit. I paired it with my favorite OTK boots, but if you live somewhere warmer you could throw on some short black booties or heels. I’m wearing a size medium in the skirt and size 7 in the boots.

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and a lot of you requested date ideas for it. I have included some of our favorite past Valentine’s Day Dates and also some other ideas as well. I also included a section for any ladies who don’t have a significant other around or are wanting to hang with the girls for a Galentine’s Day.

I have spent most of my Valentine’s Day’s with girlfriends and family which I enjoyed so much. Until I met Corbin I never really spent a Valentine’s Day with a date. So it has been very sweet and special to spend the past four Valentine’s days with him. Valentine’s Day has never really been my favorite day since I believe that everyday you should show people love and date your spouse, however it is fun to do something unique for your spouse on that day.

This year, we are going on a cruise to Mexico the week before, so we are going to have a really chill Valentine’s Day staying at home. Since Corbin doesn’t read my blog posts, I can share with you all what I am planning this year for our night in. I am going to make one of his favorite meals and make this amazing cookie brownie dessert. I am also going to surprise him with some letters as well. His love language is words of affirmation so I always love to include a note of some sort for him.

We spent our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple at home as well. I made Corbin’s favorite meal baked ziti and an amazing dessert. He surprised me with flowers, a teddy bear, and chocolates which was the sweetest. He also set up our kitchen table like a restaurant and lit some candles. Since we were just recently married living in a one bedroom apartment and didn’t have a lot of money, I came up with a creative gift. If you are looking for creative gift ideas, then pintrest is your place. I found an idea to set up different candies he liked throughout the house with notes for him to go on a scavenger hunt to find our dessert. I left little clues on each candy that led him to the next place. It was such a fun idea and it made it a very special night.

Last year, we went to this cute little gluten free italian restaurant in Hershey. It was so much fun! We also went and got a couples massage. You can never beat a couples massage.

Date Night Ideas:

  1. Movie and Dinner Date. The classic date is always a win! Going to see a romantic movie and a nice dinner is always fun. We love the movie theaters that include dinner. There is one called the Alamo Drafthouse and it has several locations throughout the US.
  2. Night in with a candlelight dinner and dessert. We have done this many times for date night. Making our favorite dishes together and our favorite dessert.
  3. Couples Massage and Dinner. This is such a great surprise. This is more on the splurge side, but so great!
  4. Ice Skating. This is so unique and different.
  5. Scavenger Hunt. You can be creative with this one. I did one for Corbin using candy and clues. It was so much fun.
  6. A themed dinner and movie night in. A romantic movie and some spaghetti. Themes make a night so much more fun.
  7. A Second First Date. I saw this on a site. This is a sweet one, you create your first date again.
  8. Book a hotel for a night away or a bed and breakfast. This is a perfect way to escape all the chores at the house and spend quality time together. We have gone to Frederick, Md before and made two days out of our trip by exploring the town the next day.
  9. Go see a concert together. Plan a date to go to see your favorite band in concert.
  10. Travel somewhere new. We live near a lot of bigger cities so we can go explore different places together.
  11. Turn your living room into a ballroom. Move the furniture and add some music and do some dancing together.
  12. Go Star Gazing together.

Galentine’s Night Ideas:

  1. Host a fun party with decorations, games, and food.
  2. Have a girlfriend over and make a dessert together and watch movies.
  3. Go out to dinner with your girlfriends.
  4. Go see one of your favorite movies together.

  6. Invite some girlfriend’s over and play games.
  7. Have a dessert pot luck party.
  8. Go out dancing like to a salsa dancing place.
